Soirée 2025 Highlights

It seems impossible that the Soirée is only days away! In the moments between focused bench time and sleep, I have been weaving together other aspects of the event in hopes of bringing you a truly whimsical experience of art in its many forms. I am excited to announce that we will have the honor of offering copies of Encounters for the Living and the Dead by Jameela F. Dallis, as well as the serendipitously titled Field Notes by E.G. Cunningham. These beautiful and moving books of poetry are brought to us by River River Books. All proceeds will go back to the poets and the independent publishing house.

We will also have the ever talented Alexander Nelson gracing us with beautiful tunes on Sunday afternoon. Alex played at the Soirée last year, and will absolutely blow you away.

There are so many holiday activities going on in Downtown Durham this weekend! As you plan your Soirée outing, don’t forget to check out the Patchwork Market around the corner, the Farmer’s Market (in the morning), the annual Christmas Tree lighting in the Plaza, historic tours of downtown, and much much more.
