Custom Commitment Jewelry

Your love is beautiful and enormous, so let’s give it somewhere to land.

Choose One-of-a-Kind

Making custom jewelry is a great way to challenge myself to make things I have not considered before and to practice new skills. I love being able to open a window into the making process so you get to see and understand the time and labors of love that go into each piece. More than anything, I love seeing the ways that these rings become part of such sweet and individual love stories.

Please Note: Please follow the instructions below to get on the list for 2025. I will only be accepting custom clients for engagement/commitment jewelry. Slots are full for January, February, and March. If you need a ring imminently, I have a small collection of pieces ready to ship/pick-up in my Commitment Shop.

How it works:

  • To begin, we will spend quite a bit of time communicating about your style and what you hope to get out of your piece. Some things I consider are: what you do with your hands all day, whether you plan on wearing it heavily or mostly for special occasions, if you have any familial metal you would like worked in, and any sentimental meaning you would like represented in the piece, etc. I like to start with pictures of other pieces you have seen that you like so I can begin to see your vision alongside you. I will also begin discussion about your budget, which may affect the design. I will commit to work within your budget and will do my best to steer the design process in a way that works for us both. Please understand that I make every effort to incorporate your style sensibilities into the design, but if at any point I feel that we are approaching plagiarism, or I am out of my depth, this will be clearly communicated.

  • Once we have decided on a design, I will draw up an invoice with all of the details of the project, including an estimate. The estimate is almost always the final price. The circumstances under which it changes are if you make adjustments to the design after I have started working on the piece that cost more (or less), or if you turn in metal for scrap towards your balance after we begin. Upon receipt of the invoice, I ask that you pay 50% of the estimate up front so that I can order materials. This deposit is not refundable. I am also open to payment plans, and accept payment through Afterpay.

While I am working on your piece(s), I will send process pictures! If at any point something you see worries you, or makes you doubt the design, please speak up! I will not be offended. This piece is for you, so let’s make it right.

  • Depending on complexity and communication, pieces generally take 4-8 weeks to complete. The due date that you indicate on your intake form will inform when I begin work on your piece. If you are customizing a design that I have available in my 'Commitment' shop, things usually move along more quickly. I will happily make edits to the final piece as needed, including changing the finish, the size, and some slight tweaks to superficial design features. Once you have seen the finished piece either in person or in pictures and videos and you are absolutely satisfied, you will pay the balance on the invoice. The invoice will include shipping (if applicable).
