Gradients
Sapphires are my favorite gemstone for many reasons. They are strong enough for heavy everyday wear, they can be densely included, multicolored, opalescent, bright, dark etc… All of these things make them the perfect stone for gradient layouts. I have been playing around with more free-form rainbow gradients in the ‘Starry’ Hewn Bands, but have found that the precision of the ‘Tarsus’ gradient brings me the most satisfaction.
When consulting with custom clients about wedding bands to pair with engagement rings, I often describe the wedding band as the background singers, or the supporting orchestra for the main show (the engagement ring). The band (pun accepted!) should deepen, support, and frame the soloist’s talent without taking over the show. These gradient ‘Tarsus’ Companion bands are meant to do just that. They are the Bangas to Tank. The Heartbreakers to Tom Petty. You get the idea.
